Homeopathy for Children

If you are reading this page, it is probably because someone has suggested homeopathy might help you. It probably can. It has helped all my children at different times and with different things - colic and cradle cap when babies, fevers at all ages, chickenpox, glue ear, earaches, teenage spots, dry and itchy skin, breathing difficulties, insect bites, bed-wetting, sports injuries, emotional issues, sore throats, coughs and colds, minor burns, cuts and bruises, sickness and vomiting, diarrhoea and constipation - to name just a few.

For me, homeopathy began with my own children so it feels right for me to include lots of babies, toddlers, children and teenagers in my practice. I am a Mum, so I have a pretty good idea about boys and girls of all ages.

Most of you will come and see me with your Mum and/or Dad or your Most Important Person. By the time your appointment arrives I will have sent you my Children's or Teenager's leaflet which tells you a bit about what will happen when you are with me. It is not frightening and I don't examine your body. For your visit to be successful I hope that you will talk to me as freely as you can. If they are visible, and you don't mind, it is useful for me to see your symptoms, and it really helps if you can explain to me why and how they bother you. If you are very little, Mum, Dad or Most Important Person will help you lots.

As your homeopath, I need to make a 'picture' of you in my head, and in that picture I need as much information about you as possible. Things like how much energy do you have? Do you prefer crisps or sweets or ice cream? Do you wriggle in bed? Are you frightened of anything? Are you quiet or noisy? ... and other weird and wonderful stuff like that. All the time, I'll be writing things down (I won't be able to remember if I don't) - but don't worry, everything you tell me is private.

Then, after you have gone, I work on your case and select your special remedy (homeopathic medicine). This remedy can help you with the problem that you came with. I will post it to you with clear instructions about how to take it. The remedies are virtually tasteless so you don't need to worry about disgusting medicines.
